Chapter 35: The Calm Before the Storm

Part 35

The rest of the day was a blur as I tried to focus on my classes, but my mind kept wandering back to Shinso's message. I couldn't shake off the feeling of unease that had settled in my stomach. What did he have planned for tomorrow? And why did I get the feeling that my life was about to take a drastic turn? As the day drew to a close, I made my way back to my apartment, my mind racing with questions. I flopped onto the couch, trying to distract myself with TV, but my eyes kept drifting back to my phone. I couldn't help but wonder if Shinso would message me again, and what he would say. Just as I was starting to relax, my phone buzzed with an incoming message. My heart skipped a beat as I saw Shinso's name on the screen. I hesitated for a moment before picking it up, my hands shaking slightly as I opened the message. "7pm sharp," was all it said. I felt a shiver run down my spine as I read the message. What did it mean? Was he picking me up at 7pm? And where were we going? I tried to push the thoughts aside, telling myself that I would just have to wait and see. But as the hours ticked by, my anxiety grew. I found myself checking the clock every few minutes, my mind racing with worst-case scenarios. Ochaco and Osby tried to call me, but I ignored their calls, not wanting to talk about Shinso's message again. I knew they would just tease me and make me feel worse. As the clock struck 6pm, I felt a sense of panic wash over me. I had to get ready, but I had no idea what to wear. I ended up changing into a simple outfit, trying to look presentable. As I stood in front of the mirror, smoothing out my hair, I couldn't help but feel a sense of trepidation. What was I getting myself into? And what would tomorrow bring? I took a deep breath and tried to calm myself down. I would just have to wait and see. As the clock struck 6:55pm, I grabbed my bag and headed out the door. I hailed a taxi and gave the driver Shinso's address. As we pulled up to the building, I felt my heart racing with anticipation. I paid the driver and stepped out of the taxi, looking up at the building. It was a high-rise apartment complex, and I had no idea which floor Shinso lived on. I took a deep breath and pushed the button for the elevator. As the doors opened, I stepped inside and pressed the button for the top floor. My heart was racing with anticipation as the elevator soared upwards, carrying me towards a fate that I could only imagine.
