"Behind the Mask of Horror"

Part 1

The dimly lit projector room was home to a group of unique film enthusiasts, all of whom shared a certain... profession. They were the infamous Scream killers, known for donning the iconic Ghostface mask to strike fear into the hearts of Woodsboro's residents. Tonight, they had gathered to watch the latest installments of their favorite franchise: Scream 5 and 6. Amidst the group, Billy Loomis and Stu Macher, the original duo behind the Ghostface mask, settled into their seats, sipping on their red wine. They had orchestrated this gathering, inviting other Scream killers from across the country to join them for a movie marathon. Gillian and Rick, the twisted couple from Scream 3, chatted excitedly in the back row, dressed to impress in their best Ghostface-inspired attire. Alongside them sat the infamous Amber Freeman, the Scream 4 killer, who had traveled all the way from her prison cell to attend this exclusive screening. The projector whirred to life, casting an eerie glow over the room as the opening credits of Scream 5 rolled onto the screen. The group watched in rapt attention as the latest Woodsboro murders unfolded before their eyes. "Amateurs," Billy whispered, shaking his head. "They think they can replicate the thrill of the kill? Please, we've been doing this for years." Stu chuckled, nodding in agreement. "And with such finesse, too. I mean, who else can say they've inspired a whole generation of copycats?" As the movie played on, the group pointed out various plot holes and inaccuracies, critiquing the film's portrayal of serial killers. They laughed and jeered at the ineptitude of the movie's characters, shaking their heads at the unrealistic scenarios. When the credits rolled, the group applauded, whistled, and jeered in equal measure. They eagerly anticipated the next installment, Scream 6, and the opportunity to dissect its flaws. As the projector whirred back to life, the room fell silent once more. The Scream killers watched with bated breath as the New York City set-slaughter began. Their eyes gleamed with excitement, reliving old memories and sparking new ideas. "I must say," Amber Freeman spoke up, "the new Ghostface design is quite... uninspired. Don't you think?" Stu raised an eyebrow. "Uninspired? Ha! It's an homage to our greatness, darling. The copycats are merely paying tribute to the originals." The group chuckled and continued to discuss the film, dissecting every detail, every jump scare, and every illogical plot twist. Their critique was laced with a mix of admiration and disdain, for they knew that, no matter how hard Hollywood tried, they could never truly replicate the true terror of being a Scream killer. As the credits rolled on Scream 6, the group filed out of the projector room, buzzing with conversation and admiration for the franchise that had inspired their dark and twisted careers. Little did they know, their night of film critique and nostalgia would soon take a dark and unexpected turn...
