**Chapter 5: An Unexpected Visit**

Part 5

An Unexpected Visit As Emily sat in the cozy café, sipping her coffee and checking her phone for any new messages, she heard a familiar voice behind her. "Emily, can I ask you a question?" The voice was hesitant, and Emily turned to see her neighbor, Mrs. Jenkins, standing behind her with a curious expression on her face. Emily smiled and nodded, inviting Mrs. Jenkins to sit down. "Of course, Mrs. Jenkins. What's on your mind?" she asked, closing her laptop to give her full attention. Mrs. Jenkins took a seat across from Emily, her eyes scanning the café before focusing on her. "Can I come over to your place right now, dear? I need to ask you something in private." Emily's curiosity was piqued, and she wondered what could be so urgent that Mrs. Jenkins needed to come over right away. She nodded, gathering her belongings. "Of course, Mrs. Jenkins. I'd be happy to have you over." As they walked out of the café, Emily couldn't help but notice the peculiar look on Mrs. Jenkins' face. It was a mix of concern and nervousness, and Emily's mind began to wander with possibilities. Once they arrived at Emily's apartment, Mrs. Jenkins took a seat on the couch, looking around the room before focusing on Emily. "I hope I'm not disturbing you, dear. I just needed to talk to you about something." Emily sat down beside her, her eyes locked on Mrs. Jenkins' face. "You can ask me anything, Mrs. Jenkins. What's on your mind?" she encouraged, her curiosity growing with each passing moment. Mrs. Jenkins took a deep breath before speaking, her voice barely above a whisper. "It's about the house. I know you've been noticing strange things happening around here, and I was wondering if you've experienced anything... unusual." Emily's eyes widened, and she leaned in closer to Mrs. Jenkins. She had indeed noticed some strange occurrences in the house, but she hadn't said anything to anyone about it. What could Mrs. Jenkins possibly know, and what did she want to talk about? Emily's mind was filled with questions, and she was eager to hear what Mrs. Jenkins had to say.
