**Chapter 1: Secrets in the Sunlight**

Part 1

The warm California sun beat down on the luxurious backyard of Sabrina Carpenter's sprawling estate, casting a golden glow over the lush greenery and the sparkling pool. Nick Robinson and Maya Hart, both close friends of Sabrina's, had decided to take advantage of her absence to indulge in a little excitement. Sabrina had popped out to the store to grab some snacks for a movie night, leaving them to their own devices. As they lounged by the pool, the tension between them was palpable. They had been dancing around their attraction for what felt like an eternity, and the air was electric with anticipation. Without a word, they locked eyes, and then, in a fluid motion, they shed their swimsuits, revealing their toned, tanned bodies. The warm sun on their skin, the cool water of the pool beckoning them, they didn't need to say another word. They slipped into the water, their naked bodies glistening in the sunlight, and began to kiss, the chemistry between them undeniable. As they broke apart for air, Nick's hands roamed over Maya's curves, and she moaned in response, her legs wrapping around him. Their passion took over, and they moved in tandem, the water rippling around them as they gave in to their desires. But their bliss was short-lived. Just as they were reaching a crescendo, a voice cut through the air, freezing them in place. "Nick? Maya? What are you...?" Sabrina stood at the edge of the pool, her eyes wide with shock, her gaze taking in the scene before her. For a moment, no one moved, the only sound the gentle lapping of the water against the sides of the pool. Nick's face turned bright red as he quickly pushed Maya away, trying to cover himself. Maya, however, seemed to shrink into herself, her eyes dropping to the water, her face pale. Sabrina's expression changed from shock to hurt, and then to anger, but before she could say a word, Nick scrambled out of the pool, grabbing a towel to wrap around his waist. "I...I need to go," he muttered, not meeting Sabrina's eyes, before turning and making a hasty exit. Maya remained in the pool, her eyes welling up with tears. Sabrina's gaze softened, and she walked over to the pool's edge. "Maya," she said gently, "get out of the pool, baby. We need to talk." As Maya slowly climbed out of the pool, Sabrina couldn't help but notice the faint scars on her wrists, a painful reminder of Maya's self-harm in the past. Sabrina's heart went out to her girlfriend, and she opened her arms, pulling Maya into a warm embrace. That night, as they sat on the couch, Nick walked in, his eyes avoiding Maya's. The tension in the room was palpable. Maya, feeling the weight of Nick's avoidance, began to cry, and Sabrina pulled her into her arms, holding her close. "I'm here for you, Maya," Sabrina whispered, her voice full of love and concern. As the night wore on, Maya cried herself to sleep in Sabrina's arms, the pain of Nick's rejection and her own guilt and shame swirling inside her. In this complicated web of relationships, one thing was clear: nothing would ever be the same again.
