"Sanctuary of Love"
Part 2
As I drifted off into a fitful sleep, Hange's gentle fingers stroked my hair, his touch a soothing balm that calmed my frazzled nerves. His warmth seeped into my skin, chasing away the chill of fear that had haunted me for so long. I felt safe, protected by the Dragon Emperor's love, and for the first time in my life, I knew what it meant to be truly home. The hours passed, marked by the gentle hum of the artificial placenta and the soft rise and fall of Hange's chest as he breathed. I slept fitfully, my dreams a jumbled mix of memories and emotions, but his presence remained a constant, a reassuring thread that bound me to reality. As the sun began to set, casting a warm orange glow over the room, Hange stirred, his movements gentle as he shifted to a more comfortable position. I felt his muscles flex, his body tense for a moment, before he relaxed, his arms wrapping tighter around me. "My love," he whispered, his voice a low rumble that vibrated through my chest. "It's time to eat. You need to nourish yourself, and our little ones." I whimpered, a soft sound of protest, but Hange's fingers were already working to untangle me from his shirt. He lifted me, cradling me in his arms as he stood, and I felt a rush of excitement mixed with trepidation. The feeding tube was attached to a small, portable device that Hange easily slung over his shoulder. He carried me to a small, private room, filled with all the necessities for my care. A comfortable chair beckoned, and Hange sat, settling me into the crook of his arm. As he began to prepare the nourishment, I felt a flutter in my chest, a mix of anticipation and anxiety. Eating was always a sensory experience, one that I approached with caution. The taste, the texture, the smell – everything was amplified, a cacophony of sensations that threatened to overwhelm me. But with Hange by my side, I felt a sense of trust, a sense of security that allowed me to face the challenge. He worked with a gentle efficiency, his hands moving with a practiced ease as he prepared the meal. As he fed me, I felt a sense of gratitude, a deep appreciation for this man who had taken me in, who had loved me despite my fragilities. His patience, his kindness, and his love had given me a sense of belonging, a sense of home. As I ate, I gazed up at him, my eyes drinking in the sight of his face, his features etched with concern and love. I reached up, my hand trembling as I touched his cheek, and he smiled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "You're doing well, my love," he said, his voice low and soothing. "Our little ones are growing strong, and soon, we'll get to meet them." I smiled, a soft, happy sound, and Hange's face lit up with a radiant smile. In that moment, I knew that I was exactly where I was meant to be – in the arms of the Dragon Emperor, surrounded by love and sanctuary.
