Part 27
The noise sent a jolt through the group, and we all froze, our hearts racing in unison. I turned to see who it was, and my relief was palpable when I saw Mina shuffling towards her room, looking bleary-eyed and confused. "Sorry about that," she mumbled, not noticing the tension that had just dissipated. The others and I let out a collective sigh, our shoulders relaxing as we realized it was just Mina. But as we stood there, still on high alert, I couldn't shake the feeling that we were being watched. And I wasn't the only one. I caught Kirishima glancing around the room, his eyes scanning the shadows. Midoriya's eyes were narrowed, his gaze darting towards the hallway. Bakugo's expression was grim, his arms still crossed over his chest. As it turned out, we weren't wrong. Lurking in the shadows, hidden from our view, was Dabi. He had been watching us, his eyes fixed on me with an unnerving intensity. But for some reason, he had decided not to make a move. Not yet, at least. The tension began to dissipate, and we all let out a collective breath as we realized it was just a false alarm. Kirishima shook his head, chuckling. "Guess we're just a little on edge, huh?" But the laughter was forced, and I could tell we were all still on edge. As if on cue, the sound of the cafeteria calling our names echoed through the hallway, and our stomachs growled in response. "Well, at least it's lunchtime now," Midoriya said, a smile spreading across his face. The group decided to grab lunch together, and as we walked towards the cafeteria, I spotted a boy with messy purple hair sitting alone at a table. He looked up, catching my eye, and I felt a jolt of curiosity. "Hey, I'm going to go grab a seat," I said, nodding towards the purple-haired boy. The others followed me, and we made our way over to his table. As I approached, the boy looked up, a hint of a smile on his face. "Mind if I join you?" I asked, already sitting down across from him. "Not at all," he replied, his voice smooth and deep. "I'm Shinso. And you are...?" I introduced myself and the others, and Shinso's eyes lit up with interest. "I've seen you guys around," he said, his gaze lingering on each of us. "You're the heroes-in-training, right?" We nodded, and Shinso leaned back in his chair, a thoughtful expression on his face. "I've heard a lot about you. You're quite the team." As we chatted, I couldn't help but feel a sense of ease around Shinso. He seemed friendly and genuine, and I found myself opening up to him. But as we laughed and joked, I couldn't shake the feeling that Dabi was still out there, watching and waiting...
