"Betrayal in the Shadows"
Part 6
As dinner approached, Gihun couldn't shake off the feeling that something was off. The utensils they were given that night were forks, which seemed more like a weapon than a eating tool. He glanced around at his team, his eyes locking onto the others as they exchanged uneasy glances. The tension in the air was palpable, and Gihun knew he had to act. "Listen, we need to come up with a plan," Gihun said, his voice low and urgent. "When the other team attacks, I want us to fake being dead. Once the guards check our pulse, we'll steal their guns and take them out." The others looked at each other, seemingly unconvinced. "That's not a good idea," Junhee said, her voice laced with skepticism. "What if they don't fall for it?" "We have to try," Gihun pressed on. "We can't just sit here and wait for them to pick us off one by one." The others reluctantly agreed, and they spent the rest of the dinner in anxious silence. As night fell and the lights went out, the air was filled with the sound of scuffling and muffled cries. The player who had voted 'O' to stay in the game had made their move, attacking the 'X' voters who had chosen to leave. Myung-gi's heart was racing as he lay on the floor, playing dead. Young-il was close to him, his presence suffocating. Myung-gi forced himself not to move away, not wanting to draw attention to himself. The sounds of struggle and screams filled the air, and Myung-gi's senses were on high alert. He could feel Young-il's eyes on him, and he knew he had to stay still. The guards eventually stepped in to stop the fights, and they made their way to the 'X' voters' side to check their pulse. That was when Gihun and Young-il made their move, quickly overpowering the guards and stealing their guns. The others joined in, and soon they had managed to take out most of the guards. One guard, however, managed to escape and lock himself in a room. Gihun forced the guard at gunpoint to remove his mask, revealing a young man. As player 120 asked if anybody was willing to volunteer to help with their escape plan, Myung-gi found himself wanting to go. But before he could even consider it, Junhee shook her head at him. Before he could decline their offer, he was being dragged by the wrist by Young-il, who personally volunteered the young guard's life. As they gathered a group of about 15-20 players, Myung-gi recognized only a few of them - Young-il, Gihun, player 120, Daeho, and Jungbae. The trapped guard led them to the camera room, but as they approached, more guards started to fire. Gihun quickly decided to split up, choosing Jungbae to go with him since they had been friends for years. Myung-gi was left with Young-il, much to his dismay. Young-il took Myung-gi's hand and dragged him through the halls, ignoring his protests. As they navigated the winding corridors, Myung-gi couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. They were leaving their fellow players behind, and he knew that they would have to fight to survive. "Where are we going?" Myung-gi asked, trying to pull his hand free. "We're going to find a way out," Young-il replied, his grip on Myung-gi's hand tightening. "And we're going to make sure we get there, together."
