Crossing the Line
Part 3
Kai's smirk returned, a spark of mischief in his eyes. He understood now, and the realization gave him a newfound confidence. Without missing a beat, he stepped even closer to Cole, his fingers brushing lightly against the warmth of Cole's chest. Slowly, deliberately, he ran his hand up, feeling the tension in Cole's body with every movement. His voice dropped into a deep, sultry purr. “Why? Wanting to follow?” Kai teased, his tone lowering even further. “Don’t tell me I distracted you?” He could feel Cole's body stiffen slightly at the touch, but Kai didn’t stop. His fingers traced over the lines of Cole's muscles, the heat radiating off him undeniable. The smirk on Kai's lips only deepened as he watched the subtle shift in Cole's expression—his usually composed demeanor slipping ever so slightly. Cole's breath hitched, and for a brief moment, he seemed at a loss for words. His chest rose and fell with each shallow breath, his usual confidence faltering. “You… You’re not playing fair,” he muttered, his voice a little rougher than normal. His eyes dropped to Kai's hand for just a second before meeting his gaze again, a flicker of something dangerous and teasing behind his eyes. “If anyone's distracted, it’s you, hotshot.” Kai leaned in, their faces just inches apart now, his hand still resting lightly on Cole's chest. “Is that so?” he murmured, his lips barely brushing Cole's ear. “Then maybe you should keep your focus a little better.” One second, Kai was still teasing, his voice a low purr, fingers ghosting across Cole's chest like it was a game. The next—before Kai could even register what was happening—his back hit the cool surface of the table with a thud. A surprised gasp escaped his lips as his thighs were suddenly spread and Cole moved between them, firm and unyielding. His strong hands were planted on either side of Kai's head, caging him in. Kai's breath hitched, his smirk long gone, replaced by wide eyes and a flushed face. The shift was instant, dizzying, and hot. His heart thudded in his chest, and he could feel the heat of Cole's body pressing in close, the weight of his presence electrifying. “C-Cole—” Kai tried to speak, voice cracking slightly under the pressure of the moment. He wasn’t sure if it was shock, excitement, or something in between. Cole leaned in, his face close, his eyes darker than Kai had ever seen them. There was no trace of his usual playful sarcasm—only focus. Intensity. Want. “You really think you can just tease me like that,” Cole growled, voice low, almost a rumble in his chest, “and not expect consequences?” Kai swallowed hard, breath shallow as he looked up at him. His lips parted, but the words were caught in his throat. For once, the fire ninja was at a loss for heat.
