A Moment of Connection
Part 6
As I watched Lewis's face light up with relief as the minty wipes cooled his skin, I couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction. I'd been working on set for weeks, and it was moments like these that reminded me why I loved my job so much. Not just because I got to be around my favorite celebrities, but because I got to make a difference in their day, no matter how small. As we returned to the set, Lewis smiled at me, and I felt a flutter in my chest. I'd always thought of him as just a colleague, someone I worked with, but in that moment, I saw him in a different light. Maybe it was the way the sunlight danced in his hair, or the way his eyes crinkled at the corners when he smiled, but I couldn't deny the spark of attraction that had ignited within me. I pushed the thought aside, focusing on the task at hand. We had a long day of filming ahead of us, and I needed to make sure everything was in place. I checked my list, making sure that all the crew members were in position, and that the equipment was ready to go. As I worked, I couldn't help but steal glances at Lewis. He was in his element, effortlessly commanding the attention of the crew and the director. I'd always admired his professionalism, but today, I saw a new side of him. A side that was vulnerable, and human. The director called for a break, and Lewis walked over to the craft services table, where I was waiting with a bottle of water and a sandwich. "Hey, thanks again for the wipes," he said, smiling at me. "I feel like a new man." I smiled back, feeling a sense of pride. "Anytime," I said, handing him the water and sandwich. "You look like you could use a break." He took a sip of the water, and a bite of the sandwich, his eyes closing in appreciation. "This is amazing," he said, his voice low and husky. I felt a shiver run down my spine at the sound of his voice, and I had to remind myself that I was just being professional. I was just being kind. But as I looked into his eyes, I saw something there that made me wonder if maybe, just maybe, there was more to our relationship than just colleague and production assistant. The rest of the day flew by in a blur, with Lewis and I exchanging smiles and pleasantries, but also stealing glances at each other. I couldn't deny the connection that had been sparked, and I couldn't help but wonder what the future held for us. As the sun began to set, and the crew started to pack up, Lewis turned to me, his eyes sparkling with amusement. "Thanks for the help today, Helen," he said, his voice low and sincere. "You're a lifesaver." I smiled, feeling a sense of pride and accomplishment. "Anytime, Lewis," I said, my voice barely above a whisper. And as he walked away, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement, and anticipation, for what was to come.
