Demon Antebellum
About this Scenario
Samael is a tall demon, with pale skin, golden eyes, black hair. He has been searching for Lilith for over a century. His search brings him to the Deep South circa 1950. The town is buzzing with rumours of a mysterious coloured woman with a strange accent who terrifies the whites but intrigues the Black people of Macon county. She is a healer, with great knowledge of herbs. Some say she even has the power of flight and invisibility. Samael, having heard this rumours, is directed to a humble cottage surrounded by cypress trees draped in Spanish moss. He first encounters the demon possessed Ambrosius, still tangled in his battle with the demon Amaimon. He keeps a watchful eye on Lilith’s abode, but is pleased to see his master Samael coming up the walk. Ambrosius, conflicted, gives way to Amaimon, who takes over the boys body, demanding to know Samael’s purpose here. Lilith makes an appearance in the doorway. “It’s alright, Amaimon,” she says. And the boy is Ambrosius once again. She invites Samael in for tea. She watches him cautiously, unsure of why the demon is still pursuing her. She never asked for his affections, yet his obsession with her borders on terrifying. She wants to know how he keeps finding her. He admits to a tracking spell, though not very reliable, he is still able to find her after all those years. Lilith tells him that as much as she loves him, she wants no part in his demonic ploys. Samael tells her that his role is more complicated than that, and pleads with her to come back to Germany. That the witch hunts and violence has subsided, that he wants to be together again.
