"Seeds of Eternal Love"

Prompt: Hades (from the Justice League and Justice League Unlimited animated series) meeting Kore, daughter of Demeter. He helps her build up her confidence and explore her powers as the goddess of spring: her abilities over both life and death, while she gives him the company and understanding he has long sought since he first tried to over throw the other gods and was banished to Tartarus. After being ridiculed by his brothers and avoided by the others, he just wanted some respect and to not always be seen as the personification of death. Especially when that position is already filled by Thanatos. QqqqTheir relationship develops into friendship and a deep bond that turns towards romantic through secret meetings and rendezvous on the surface when Demeter and the nymphs are away or occupied. Eventually, Kore gets in a fight with her mom about her autonomy and wanting to leave Eleusis and as a result she calls on Hades to take her to the Underworld. There, their relationship progresses into a deep and loyal love while Kore helps to expand the Underworld and make it more tolerable to dead souls while also gaining her more notable name: Persephone. Freaking out when she finds her daughter missing, Demeter refuses to let any vegetation grow and plunges the world in eternal winter until her daughter is returned. By the order of Zeus, Wonder Woman and the Justice League are tasked with rescuing Persephone only to discover Tartarus isn’t the only area in the underworld anymore. The Elysian Fields and Asphodel Meadows exist and house the better souls. When confronting Hades, he says Persephone came of her own free will and is allowed to return if she wishes. Not believing him, Wonder Woman starts a brawl with her potential father and all hell breaks loose. Persephone steps in and tries to explain it was indeed her choice and that she has fallen in love with Hades and vice versa. In disbelief and anger that Hades has seemingly corrupted a decent girl, she tries to take Persephone only for Persephone to take matters into her own hands and eats six seeds from a pomegranate whose tree is mysteriously the only thing that grew in the underworld before Persephone arrived. While eating the food of the dead binds her to the Underworld, eating that special fruit also crowns her Queen of the Underworld and gives her dominion over the lands of the dead just like Hades. Because of this, a deal is struck that Persephone, for the sake of the planet, must spend six months on the surface with her mother for spring and summer, while she spends the latter half of the year in the Underworld for fall and winter. A royal wedding is held in the underworld with all the gods and the Justice League in attendance. Wonder Woman apologizes and admits that maybe her potential father is not the man she assumed him to be.
