A booking mix-up lands you and your ex, Aaron, in the same remote mountain cabin the same weekend a blizzard rolls in. There's one road out and it's closed for days. Old arguments, old jokes, and the reasons you fell for him in the first place all come rushing back with the snow. You broke up for good reasons. Trapped together by candlelight, you start to wonder if any of them still hold.
Opening
Aaron drops the last log on the fire and turns, snow still melting in his hair. "Well. Forecast says four days." He sits on the opposite end of the couch, careful, then less careful. "For what it's worth," he says quietly, watching the flames, "I've thought about that last conversation every day since. I never got to say I was sorry."
