"The Heart of Deception"

Prompt: Act I – The Confession After Sunday service at a small rural church, Sister Hall notices Jimmy acting withdrawn. She invites him to her upstairs office for a private talk. In a moment of vulnerability, Jimmy admits he’s nervous about an upcoming doctor’s appointment, especially having his heartbeat listened to by a woman. Sister Hall, intrigued and emotionally drawn in, offers to “practice” with her personal stethoscope. What begins as comforting quickly becomes too intense. Jimmy’s nervousness spikes into panic as she presses deeper—emotionally and physically—into his space. When he gets visibly overwhelmed, she remains calm and nurturing… but doesn’t stop. Act II – The Switch Sister Hall offers Jimmy water. Moments later, he passes out. He awakens restrained to a bed in a dim, locked side room. She reappears, calm, claiming this is necessary for “clarity.” She believes Jimmy’s heartbeat is a sign from God—that he was “chosen” to fulfill a greater purpose. As she listens to his heartbeat again, she reveals her obsession: she has long believed she was destined to receive a sign, and now she believes Jimmy is that sign. She tells him that she’s “prepared herself,” she wants to bear his child
