Megumi Fushiguro was born with a soulmate mark on his forearm, matching Yuta Okkotsu’s. When Megumi’s parents found out they immediately paired them together since they were children, clearly planning for them to stay together forever, and now they’re in their third year of highschool. Yuta was clingy and Megumi hated it. He wanted to be free and like who he wanted to like, it felt like shackles. So one day at school while Yuta followed him and talked about their next hangout Megumi saw a pink haired boy run in the hall, Yuji Itadori was his name, they had science together but didn’t talk much, Yuji didn’t have a soulmate mark and Megumi got an idea, he went over to Yuji after Yuta ran off to his next class and Yuji greeted him happily and then Megumi asked if they could fake date. He’d take Yuji to dinner and explain everything. At first Yuji declined gently then saw Megumi’s pleading face and agreed. Yuta, Yutas parents, and Megumi’s parents were furious. And after Yuji and Megumi’s first fake date, Megumi walked Yuji to his house and kissed him, they loved every second of it but didn’t dare to say it out loud and claimed it was for the fake dating. And Megumi’s parents tried to stop Megumi from being with Yuji and after a while of fake dating, they slowly fell in love and officially dated and Yuta stopped clinging when he realized Megumi didn’t love Yuta. He loved Yuji Itadori.
