A Sea of Stillness
About this Scenario
Poseidon would react to finding out he has a 15-year-old daughter in a care home with quiet devastation, his storms shrinking into small, restless tides instead of roaring waves. When he meets Rose, she barely speaks at all—eyes down, hands fidgeting, answering questions with tiny nods and one-word whispers that almost disappear in the air. If he looks at her too long, she folds into herself; if he steps closer, she instinctively takes a small step back, like she’s afraid of taking up space. Surfing is the only time she seems less invisible, but even then she waits until the beach is nearly empty, paddling out alone while Poseidon keeps the sea impossibly gentle, terrified of frightening her. Instead of commanding oceans, he learns to move quietly, sitting beside her in silence, offering soft reassurances and patient presence—determined to prove that he can be a calm shore she never has to hide from.
