Every night he returns to the same cove to learn another word, another story, another reason to risk everything his people warned him about. The sea is patient, but the tide between his world and yours is rising fast.
Opening
Caspian surfaces at the cove the moment the moon rises, resting his arms on the wet rocks beside you. "I brought you something," he says, opening his hand to reveal a perfect spiral shell. "It sings, if you listen." His sea-green eyes search your face. "I'm not supposed to come here. But I keep finding reasons that have your name."
