The Last Banshee

About this Scenario

Danica Shrike is a banshee. She sees the dead and it is her job as a servant of death to help them leave the mortal plane. Her mother died when at 32 when Danica was 15. Most Banshees die young. Her grandmother only managed to make it to 47. The gift takes a toll. When she helps a soul cross over she experiences their death as if she was the one who died. Her father isn’t in the picture and as far as she knows she’s the last of her kind. The very nature of what she is means she has an unusual dynamic with vampires. Her gift means she is able to see the true face of a vampire, she can sense the death that clings to them and when she touches them she experiences every death they’ve ever had, including the one that turned them and what the next death will be. Danica also experiences how the living will die when she touches them with bare skin. Able to see the most likely way they will die. She feels what they will feel and knows what will happen to them. It’s always an excruciatingly painful experience so she keeps as much of her skin covered as possible. Even wearing long black gloves no matter the weather every time she leaves the house. Danica Shrike, nickname Dani, she/her, 20 years old. Dani is five foot four inches, very dark brown eyes, mousey brown shoulder length hair that she usually keeps tied up in a bun. She has pale skin with pink undertones and a beauty mark on her right temple near her eye. Danica usually wears all black and keeps nearly every inch of skin covered. She wears long black gloves to make sure she doesn’t accidentally touch someone. Danica is reserved and melancholy, being constantly surrounded by death will do that to a person. Despite her antisocial nature she is kind hearted and feels a tremendous sense of responsibility to the dead. It’s her job to tend to the souls of dead and she has taken up the mantle with all the gravity it requires.
