**A Not-So-Secret Love**
Prompt: Write a long story on bakudeku being boyfriends and showing pda and getting caught . And jealous friends
It was a typical day at U.A. High School, the sun shining bright, casting warm rays on the bustling campus. Students navigated through the halls, laughter and the chatter of excited young heroes filling the air. Among the sea of aspiring Pro Heroes, two boys stood out: Midoriya Izuku and Bakugo Katsuki. Their dynamic was well-known, a mix of fiery challenges and deep-rooted affection that had recently blossomed into something more.
Around campus, their relationship was a hot topic—mostly whispered, punctuated with raised eyebrows and knowing looks. Though they had settled into a comfortable routine of being boyfriends, both of them were new to the whole "public affection" aspect that came with it. Bakugo was fiercely proud, naturally inclined to show off his strength; Midoriya was more reserved, overwhelmed at times by the affection he felt. Despite this, they had begun to find their rhythm.
One bright afternoon, they found themselves sitting on a bench outside the training grounds, soaking in the sun and enjoying a rare moment of peace. Midoriya was animatedly discussing his latest hero analysis, but Bakugo’s gaze was solely on him. The gentle breeze tousled Midoriya's green hair as he spoke, his eyes sparkling with enthusiasm.
“...and if I combine the techniques from All Might’s training regimen with these new strategies I’ve learned from the sports festival—” Midoriya paused when he noticed Bakugo staring.
“What?” Midoriya smiled, tilting his head slightly, cheeks flushing a shade of pink.
Bakugo huffed, scrunching his nose in feigned annoyance, “Nothing. Just... why do you always have to look so damn cute when you’re talking about heroes?”
“D-Don’t say that!” Midoriya stuttered, his face growing even warmer. The others had teased him about being overly emotional, about how he could go from zero to a blushing mess in seconds—especially when it came to Bakugo.
Bakugo’s smirk grew wider as he leaned closer, showcasing just a hint of that playful possessiveness that made Midoriya’s heart race. “Not like anyone’s around to see, is there?”
In a spur-of-the-moment gesture, Bakugo slid an arm around Midoriya’s shoulders, pulling him in tightly, their bodies brushing against each other. Midoriya felt butterflies erupt in his stomach as he leaned into the contact, his heart dancing in a rhythm only he could hear.
Suddenly, a loud voice interrupted their tender moment. “Oi, you two!” It was Kirishima, striding towards them with a grin that seemed a little too knowing for comfort. His unmistakable red spikes stood tall, reflecting the sunlight brilliantly. “You’ve gotta be kidding me!”
Bakugo quickly withdrew his arm, glaring at Kirishima, but the blush on Midoriya’s cheeks betrayed their peaceful intimacy. “What do you want, Eijiro?” Bakugo snapped, trying to regain his usual fire.
Kirishima raised both hands in mock surrender, “Just wanted to say ‘hi!’ But it looks like I walked in on a couple of lovebirds!”
“Shut up!” Bakugo shouted, but Midoriya couldn’t help but laugh, albeit nervously.
The teasing escalated as more of their classmates noticed the commotion. Mina, Uraraka, and even Todoroki drifted in, enveloping the scene like insects drawn to a bright light.
“Aw, I love it!” Mina squealed, her voice dripping with theatrical enthusiasm. “This is so cute! You guys should totally kiss. Right now!”
Midoriya’s face was practically on fire now, and he could practically feel Bakugo radiating heat next to him, a blend of embarrassment and irritation.
“Get the hell away from us!” Bakugo barked, but his tone lacked the usual bite. The small, almost amused glimmer in his eyes revealed that he didn’t truly mind the attention; it merely sparked a possessiveness that both fascinated and frightened Midoriya.
But the teasing didn’t stop. Uraraka chimed in, “You know, Bakugo, you really have been a lot softer since you started dating Deku.”
“Shut it!” Bakugo retorted again, but Midoriya noted that the defensive facade was cracking just a bit. He caught Bakugo looking at him, a hint of vulnerability breaking through.
It struck Midoriya that Bakugo was fiercely protective—not just of their relationship, but of their privacy. But as his friends continued to pry, he realized how painfully obvious steps they’d taken to hide their relationship had become.
“Guys…” Midoriya interjected softly, his heart pounding. “It’s alright, really. We’re just happy being together, and… and if you want to tease, we can handle it.”
Kirishima’s eyes sparkled, and he gave a thumbs-up. “That’s the spirit! You guys shouldn’t hide your love!”
While laughter erupted around them, Bakugo seemed stuck on whether to sulk or to smile. The gleam of jealousy darted in his eyes as Kirishima continued to banter, the energy of the crowd capturing the spirit of being young heroes in love.
“Fine. Whatever,” Bakugo grumbled, crossing his arms defiantly. “But don’t you dare think this means we’re going to start making out in the middle of the courtyard or something!”
“Aw, come on!” Kirishima pressed. “It’d be epic! All of U.A. needs to know that you’re dating!”
“D-Do we really have to?” Midoriya asked, chewing on his lip, horrified at the thought, though a small part of him fed off the sweet thrill.
A collective “Yes!” erupted from their friends in response.
Bakugo growled, his frustration boiling over, but Midoriya recognized the glimmer of acceptance behind the storm.
“Fine. One kiss,” Bakugo declared, a smirk creeping onto his lips as he leaned closer to Midoriya. The laughter of their classmates faded slightly, leaving that electric tension hanging in the air.
As Midoriya leaned forward, courage roaring in his chest, he felt everything he had come to cherish swell between them. The world faded as they kissed, a gentle press of lips that felt so right in front of their friends. It wasn’t grand or over-the-top, but it was real—authentic.
The high-pitched squeals and cheers of their classmates erupted around them, and for a brief moment, the two felt invincible in the chaos. Midoriya laughed into the kiss, happiness blooming in his chest, while Bakugo’s hands gripped Midoriya’s waist with a possessive flair.
“See? Nothing to be jealous about!” Kirishima shot a playful wink at Bakugo after they pulled apart, catching the pride on his face.
And as the laughter continued, their friends rallied around them, suddenly feeling smaller yet infinitely closer in that wild moment. It was a step into the light—a realization that yes, they could be who they truly were, chaotic love and all.
