**Chapter 1: A Royal Visitation of Discord**

Part 1

The sun shone brightly in the kingdom of Hyrule, casting a warm glow over the lush green hills and bustling streets of the capital city. Princess Zelda, wise and just ruler of the land, stood in the grand throne room, her long golden hair cascading down her back like a river of sunset hues. She was expecting a guest, Princess Sofia from the neighboring kingdom of Nefaria, and she was not looking forward to it. As the doors to the throne room swung open, a tall, statuesque woman with piercing blue eyes and raven-black hair strode in, flanked by two imposing guards. Princess Sofia's gaze swept the room, her eyes lingering on Zelda before she curtsied low. "Your Highness," Sofia said, her voice husky and confident. "It's an honor to finally meet you." Zelda's smile was polite, but her eyes betrayed a hint of wariness. "The pleasure is mine, Princess Sofia. I trust your journey was uneventful?" Sofia waved a hand dismissively. "Oh, it was a breeze. I do hope you're not planning on boring me with tedious state dinners and stodgy protocol. I'm more of a... free spirit, you know?" Zelda's eyebrows arched. "I see. Well, I'm sure we can accommodate your... unconventional tastes. I was thinking we could have a private dinner in the gardens tonight?" Sofia's face lit up. "That sounds fabulous, darling! But first, I must tell you about our latest hero, Galen the Unyielding. He's been given to the gods, of course." Zelda's expression faltered. "Given to the gods? I'm not sure I understand." Sofia's eyes sparkled with enthusiasm. "Oh, it's a wonderful tradition in Nefaria! When someone proves themselves to be a great hero, we sacrifice them to the gods as a token of our appreciation. It's a noble gesture, really." Zelda's face went white with rage. "You... you can't be serious! That's barbaric!" Sofia shrugged. "Well, it's just our way. And it's not like Galen suffered or anything. He was quite... ecstatic, I'm told." Zelda's anger simmered just below the surface as she struggled to keep her composure. "I... see. Well, I think we'll have to agree to disagree on that matter, Princess Sofia." The visiting princess beamed. "Oh, I'm so glad we're going to get along famously, Zelda! And speaking of getting along, have you seen Fifty Shades of Grey? I just adore Christian Grey – he's so dreamy!" Zelda's eyes widened in horror. "Fifty Shades of Grey? You can't be serious! That's... that's..." Sofia giggled. "Oh, come now, Zelda! It's a classic romance! I just can't get enough of it. I've read the book at least a dozen times." Zelda's face burned with indignation. "I think we have a lot to discuss, Princess Sofia. Perhaps we should adjourn to the gardens for that dinner... and a little chat about our differences?" Sofia grinned mischievously. "Sounds like a plan, darling. But don't worry, I won't bite... hard." As the two princesses walked out of the throne room, Zelda couldn't help but wonder what other surprises this visit had in store for her...
