A Royal Conundrum

Part 5

For the next seven days, the castle staff struggled to cope with a mysterious illness that swept through the halls like a dark storm cloud. It started with Link, who had unknowingly poisoned the food and drinks with his toxic tears. As the days passed, the illness spread rapidly, and soon, most of the staff were overcome with violent bouts of vomiting. The cleaning staff worked tirelessly to clean up the mess, but they were overwhelmed by the sheer volume of vomit they had to deal with. Mops and buckets were constantly being used, and the smell of disinfectant filled the air. Meanwhile, Zelda and Victoria were at odds over the implications of Link's condition. They stood in the grand hall, their voices hushed but their argument heated. Zelda's face was etched with concern, while Victoria's was set in a proud smile. "It's not natural, Victoria," Zelda insisted. "Hylians are not meant to be poisonous. It's a abomination." Victoria shrugged, her eyes glinting with pride. "I think it's fascinating. We've always known that the Triforce of Courage grants its bearers incredible abilities. I just didn't expect it to manifest in this way." Zelda's eyes narrowed. "You think it's something to be proud of? Link is suffering, Victoria. He's not a science experiment for you to play with." Victoria's smile faltered for a moment, but she quickly recovered. "I'm not playing with him, Zelda. I'm studying him. And I think we can learn a lot from his condition." As they argued, the castle staff struggled to cope with the aftermath of the poisoning. The sound of retching and vomiting echoed through the corridors, and the smell of disinfectant and sickness hung heavy in the air. The usually pristine castle was now a scene of chaos and disorder. Zelda's face set in a determined expression. "We need to find a way to reverse this, Victoria. We can't just sit back and let Link suffer." Victoria's eyes sparkled with defiance. "I don't think we should try to reverse it, Zelda. I think we should try to understand it. And control it." Zelda's eyes flashed with anger. "Control it? You want to control a poisonous creature? That's not something to be proud of, Victoria. That's something to be feared." As the argument continued, it became clear that the rift between Zelda and Victoria was growing wider by the minute. The fate of Link, and the entire kingdom, hung in the balance. Would they be able to find a way to reverse the effects of the Triforce of Courage, or would Victoria's pride and ambition tear them apart?
