"Unveiling the Truth"
Part 5
Steven took a deep breath, his eyes locked on Pearl's tear-stained face. He could see the weight of her secrets, the burden of her past, and he knew it was time to reveal his own. "Pearl, I...I know some things," he said, his voice steady. "Things about Pink Diamond, about Rose Quartz." The room fell silent, with all eyes on Steven. Pearl's face went pale, and she took a step back, as if retreating from the truth. Amethyst and Garnet exchanged a curious glance, while Spinel's eyes widened in surprise. Steven continued, his voice filled with conviction. "I know that Pink Diamond was my mother," he said, the words feeling strange on his lips, but liberating nonetheless. "I know that she and the other Diamonds - Sapphire and Amethyst, or at least, not this Amethyst - were once at war." Garnet's eyes narrowed, her face set in a mixture of curiosity and wariness. Amethyst, on the other hand, looked like she had been punched in the gut. "What do you mean, Steven?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper. Steven took a deep breath, his mind racing with the memories he had gained from his visions. "I know that Pink Diamond was Rose Quartz," he said, his voice firm. "And I know that she's...gone." The room erupted into chaos, with Pearl collapsing to the ground, overcome with emotion. Amethyst's face was a mixture of shock and grief, while Garnet's eyes were fixed on Steven, her expression unreadable. Spinel, still clutching Steven's hand, looked up at him with tears in her eyes. "Steven, how did you know these things?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper. Steven's eyes softened, and he pulled Spinel into a gentle hug. "I...I don't know," he said, his voice vague. "But I do know that Peridot is coming soon. And I need to be ready." Garnet's eyes snapped to attention, her face set in a determined expression. "What do you mean, Peridot is coming?" she asked, her voice firm. Steven's face set in a resolute expression. "I need to train," he said. "I need to be ready to face her. And I'm not sure if this body is ready to fight." Amethyst's eyes widened in alarm, while Pearl's face twisted in a mixture of pain and regret. "Steven, you can't just...you can't just throw yourself into battle," Amethyst said, her voice filled with concern. Steven's eyes locked on Garnet's, and he could see the understanding there. "I have to try," he said, his voice firm. "I have to be ready for whatever comes next." Garnet nodded, a small smile playing on her lips. "Then let's get to work, Steven," she said. "We'll train you, and we'll get you ready for Peridot. But first...we need to talk about what this means for us, for the Crystal Gems." The room fell silent, with all eyes on Steven, waiting for him to lead the way into a future filled with unknown challenges and untold revelations.
