"Unshackling the Hero"
Part 10
As Link's body began to recover from the poison, Zelda turned her attention to the restraints that bound him to the wall. She examined the ropes, chains, and manacles that held him captive, her brow furrowed in concern. There were three different types of restraints, each one seemingly designed to inflict maximum discomfort. "Link, how are you feeling?" she asked, trying to keep her voice gentle as she inspected the restraints. Link winced as he shifted his position, his eyes squinting in pain. "I'm...I'm okay, Zelda. Just a bit...restricted." Zelda's gaze narrowed as she studied the restraints. "Restricted? That's one way to put it. These are incredibly uncomfortable, not to mention impractical. Why would they use three different types of restraints?" She tugged on one of the ropes, trying to loosen it, but it only seemed to tighten. Link groaned, his face contorting in discomfort. "This is ridiculous," Zelda exclaimed, her voice rising in frustration. "Can't they see that this is torture? You're not even a prisoner, Link! You're a hero, and you deserve to be treated with respect!" Link chuckled weakly, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "I think they were going for 'torture' rather than 'respect.'" Just then, the door to the dungeon cell creaked open, and Victoria sauntered in, a look of satisfaction on her face. Her eyes scanned the restraints, and a pleased smile spread across her features. "Oh, isn't this just adorable?" she cooed, her voice dripping with malice. "The great Hero of Hyrule, tied up like a puppy on a leash. I must say, I'm impressed by the creativity of my guards." Zelda's temper snapped. "You...you monster!" she spat, her eyes blazing with fury. "How could you do this to him? He's done nothing but try to protect this kingdom and its people, and this is how you repay him?" Victoria's smile faltered for a moment, before she regained her composure. "Oh, Zelda, you're so dramatic. I'm just trying to...motivate him. You know, to encourage him to cooperate." Zelda's anger boiled over, and she took a step forward, her fists clenched at her sides. "Motivate him? You're not even human, Victoria. You're a monster, a cruel and heartless creature who deserves to be punished for your crimes." Victoria's eyes flashed with anger, and for a moment, Zelda thought she saw a glimmer of something darker, something more sinister. But then, the queen's mask slipped back into place, and she laughed, a cold, mirthless sound. "Oh, Zelda. You're so predictable. But don't worry, I'll take care of Link. I'll make sure he's...comfortable." Zelda's eyes narrowed, her mind racing with possibilities. She knew she had to act fast, before Victoria could carry out her twisted plans. And as she looked at Link, still bound and helpless, she knew that she would do whatever it took to free him, to protect him, and to bring Victoria to justice.
